hOW CAN WE HELP?

What Camby Homeowners Should Know
Camby Homes May Be on Municipal Water or Well Water
Because Camby straddles the Marion-Morgan County line, some homes are served by municipal water systems while others, particularly on the Morgan County side and in more rural areas, rely on private wells. Either way, Central Indiana groundwater is very hard. A water softener is a practical investment for Camby homeowners regardless of their water source. If you’re on well water, a water test and filtration assessment is especially worthwhile.
Camby's Growth Brings a Mix of Housing Ages
Camby has transitioned from a rural crossroads to a suburban community over the past two decades. That means homes range from older construction with aging plumbing to newer subdivisions with modern PEX systems. For older homes, pipe condition is worth checking. For newer homes, water quality systems and fixture installations are the most common service requests.
A Growing Corridor With Commercial Plumbing Needs
The SR-67 retail corridor — anchored by Walmart, Meijer, and Menards — has brought steady commercial growth to the Camby area. Businesses along this corridor need reliable commercial plumbing for restrooms, kitchens, and building systems. We serve both the homes and the businesses in this zone.
Flat Terrain and Stormwater Management
Camby’s relatively flat terrain and proximity to drainage channels mean some properties deal with standing water after heavy rains. A properly sized sump pump with battery backup protects your basement or crawl space during Central Indiana’s spring storms, especially when power outages coincide with the heaviest rain.
Camby Areas We Serve
SR-67 (Mooresville Road) Corridor
The main artery through Camby running northeast toward Indianapolis and southwest toward Mooresville. Both the commercial properties along the corridor and the residential neighborhoods on either side are within our service zone.
Camby Residential Neighborhoods
The established and newer residential subdivisions off SR-67. A mix of single-family homes built from the 1990s through the present. Steady demand for water quality systems, water heater service, and sump pump installations.
Heartland Crossing Area
The larger residential and commercial development zone south and west of the SR-67 and I-70 interchange area. Newer construction with modern plumbing, but still subject to Central Indiana's hard water challenges.
Rural Camby and Morgan County Edge
The more rural residential areas on the Morgan County side of Camby. Some properties here are on well water, which may require targeted water testing and filtration beyond what a standard softener provides.
Toward Southport and Perry Township
The eastern portion of the Camby area connects toward Southport and the Perry Township neighborhoods. We serve this entire corridor from our Franklin Township base.

If you want to work with an honest plumber who will execute the job with excellence, then you need to come to Parkhurst Family Plumbing! We had a major water leak and they got us in contact with a company that would help us with the insurance process while working quickly to help resolve the plumbing issues. We have had him install our kitchen sink four years ago, install a dish washer, install some toilets, replace the outside water spigot after it was leaking, reinstall the garbage disposal, fix the burst pipe (which required getting in the slab) and also fix a bad installation of a pipe in our bathroom by the home builders 20 years ago. He does an outstanding job and will be honest through the process. He’s also come out after hours and all times of the day and NOT charged an arm and a leg. Thanks, Larry! I should have left a review a long time ago — he can do it all!

I contacted Larry around 11am because the installers for our new stove said we needed to have a licensed plumber come out and change our stoves gas line. Larry came out later the same day and had everything fixed and even helped install our new stove for us. I highly recommend reaching out to him if you find yourself in need with your plumbing because he really saved my sanity by being here so fast and helping us.

Save thousands and use Parkhurst. The big dogs in town will rob you blind!! Apples to Apples quote proves that. One of the few honest business left in Indianapolis. I will 100% use them in the future.

We had a new experience in our home last night. We used the master tub, only to come downstairs and find an absurd amount of water coming from around the air vent in the kitchen ceiling! I immediately called Larry, and he was able to come over bright and early this morning to check the problem. Larry quickly found the issue: come to find out, we had a crack in the overflow catch! Larry was able to get it fixed and did a great patch in the wall, too! We’ve never had a plumbing issue before this, but if we ever do again, we definitely know who to call!

INDIANAPOLIS WATER: WHAT'S ACTUALLY IN IT?
Indianapolis tap water runs 12 to 25 grains per gallon — anything above 7 is considered hard, according to Citizens Energy Group. That mineral load is why water heaters, fixtures, and appliances wear out early across the Southside.
